If you’ve ever been swimming in a northern freshwater lake in the summer, you know that the water near the surface is warm, but the temperature drops just a few feet below. The warm water rises because it’s less dense than cold water. “Turnover” happens when air temperatures fall and the surface temp drops, causing the colder, more dense water to sink – essentially flipping the entire water column.The same thing happens inside the Meltdown Clear Cube.
